4.1.2018 : Discussion with Head of Fisheries Department, Port Dickson and SOCSO House Visit (Taman PD Utama and Batu 2, Jalan Port Dickson)

Thursday 4 January 2018
On 4th January 2018, I had a fruitful discussion with Tuan Arshad, Head of Fisheries Department of Port Dickson to find solutions for issues and procedural problems faced by the fishermen I visited previously.

I also handled 5 SOCSO related cases by visiting 5 individuals in Taman PD Utama and Batu 2, Jalan Port Dickson together with Puan Risalah, officer from SOCSO; Mr. Gopal, MIC Branch Chairman and Ms. Mariyaee from WanitaMIC. These individuals have difficulty being mobile due to physical challenges/ unavailability of transport and as such, find it difficult to go to the SOCSO office.

We assisted them by advising on the type of aids they can apply from SOCSO based on their conditions and the requirements while also helping them to fill out the relevant forms.

I would like to applaud SOCSO for the continuous great job done for the welfare of Malaysians. During all my dealings with SOCSO officers especially those in Squad Prihatin, they have always been prompt and efficient in providing assistance and solutions. We also informed to the public regarding intiatives taken by our Menteri Besar and BN Government.

12.12.2017 : Jangan Terperangkap Momokkan Nostalgia Palsu (News Article)

Tuesday 12 December 2017
Following is the excerpt of the news article published on 12th December 2017 on www.pru14.tv :

11.12.2017 : Sambutan Bulan Keluarga Kebangsaan 1Malaysia

Monday 11 December 2017
On 11th December 2017, I had the privilege to attend the 'Sambutan Bulan Keluarga Kebangsaan 1Malaysia' Program organized by Majlis Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga & Masyarakat Parlimen Teluk Kemang and headed by Puan Safiah Sidek, Chairman of Wanita UMNO Teluk Kemang. This program was held at PDM Kampung Paya, Port Dickson.
This program was also attended by Ms. Thulasi, Chairman of the Teluk Kemang Women's Division of MyPPP; Ms. Ct Hawa, Chairman of Kongress Indian Muslim Women Teluk Kemang (KIMMA); Mr. Hamid Mustapha, former MIC Branch Chairman of Kampung Paya; Deputy Chairman of MCA Teluk Kemang, Mr. Vincent; Chairman of Pemuda MCA Teluk Kemang, Mr.Edward; and Ms.Eykaa Nazarudin and Ms.Rohaini Ahmad from Puteri UMNO Teluk Kemang.
The atmosphere was vibrant and lively. There were many activities held for the attendees such as drawing and coloring for kids, aerobics, many family activities and free pap smear test and vaccinations by the LPPKN Mobile Buses. Small business owners were also given the chance to set-up stalls showcasing and selling their products. There were stalls selling cosmetics and perfumes made in Malaysia in addition to food stalls being set up serving delicious food such as curry noodles.
I had a great time mingling with the locals who attended the program, joining some of the interesting activities and took time to visit the stalls set up by the small business owners and even bought some of the goods sold. I managed to have a few words with Puan Hajah Suhana Ahmad founder of her own beauty line, Ancient Cosmetics which is registered with Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB). It was especially heartwarming to watch the activities participated by families as a whole.
I would like to commend Puan Safiah and her team for perfectly organizing this program and to ensure it went on without a single glitch. It was great to be part of a program that managed to bring together all the locals in a carnival-like program, where everyone had the chance to enjoy themselves while strengthening the bond between families, local leaders and the rakyat.

22.11.2017 : Program Jalinan Rakyat (JRplus) Teluk Kemang

Wednesday 22 November 2017
On 22nd November 2017, I was involved in Program Jalinan Rakyat (JRplus) organized by Wanita UMNO Teluk Kemang together with PuteraMIC Teluk Kemang.

This program was joined by Ketua Wanita UMNO Teluk Kemang, Puan Safiah Sidek and 16 members from 'Squad Sayang' Wanita UMNO Barisan Nasional; Mr. Sargunan,  Chief of PuteraMIC Teluk Kemang; and Mr. Ravindran, Deputy Chief of PuteraMIC Rembau.

During this program, we visited five families at Batu 2, Jalan Port Dickson. We took time to listen to and take note of problems they faced in addition to providing them some advise and  solutions to solve them. We also gave them some grocery items to help ease their burden. Puan Safiah and I advised the families on the procedure for BR1M application and other government aid they can apply for.

This was a very fruitful event wherein we got the chance to 'get to the ground' and interact with the rakyat, listen to their problems and also create awareness about the initiatives undertaken by the Barisan Nasional government to help Malaysians. I hope we will be able to continue these visits in the nearest future in order to meet and interact with even more Malaysians.
