15.4.2017 - Program Amal Gelendangan, 'Budi Ditabur, Kasih Disemai'

On 15th April 2017, I joined Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat Negeri Sembilan (PPMNS) together with Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS) Negeri Sembilan and students from Kolej Teknologi Alpha for a program with the homeless.

This program was held from 12am to 1.30am with 20 participants and we covered areas including NS Terminal, Bank Islam, Pasar Besar Seremban and MAINS.

The main aim of this program was to meet the homeless and get to know reasons that caused them to be homeless. This way, we can help to find solutions to effectively reduce the number of homeless in Negeri Sembilan and hopefully to be a zero-homeless state in the future. 

In addition, this program is intended to raise the necessary awareness with regard to social development and the importance of lending a helping hand to the needy. It is a good exposure for the participating college students about giving, sharing, helping and being grateful. 

During our walk-about, we met homeless people from different races and different backgrounds and one common point from most is their determination to still be independent and to try to find a job for themselves. I took note of this and am already working out ways to be able to help provide jobs for them to enable them to stand on their own feet. We also met others who have no families to care for them or are estranged from their families. One homeless man has just been discharged from the hospital. I will try my level best to find a solution for them too.

I can't stress enough on the importance of 'ground work' as only through this, we are able to find out what the people really need and the real problems that they face.

6.4.2017 - Program Menyantuni Golongan Asnaf Fakir dan Muslim (VII)

Following my visit on 31st March 2017, on 6th April 2017 under Program Menyantuni Golongan Asnaf , Fakir dan Miskin, once again I joined Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat headed by Mohd Aryan Kailash to visit poor families at Kampung Air Meleleh Port Dickson.

Also present during the visit was Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat Negeri Sembilan's Deputy Chairman En.Hasbullah and Secretary Pn.Rozaini , Village Head of Kampung Air Meleleh Tuan Haji Osman and his Deputy Tuan Alias.

I would like to to thank Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Sembilan for all their support and contribution given throughout this program.

Today we visited a total of 5 families. As with our previous visits, we took time to hear them voice their problems out and took serious note of them and at the same time brainstormed with all those present on ways to help these families out.

This is my 7th visit and each visit has taught so much about being grateful and made me even more passionate to serve the people.

31.3.2017 - Program Menyantuni Golongan Asnaf , Fakir dan Miskin (VI)

As a follow-up to our previous visits under Program Menyantuni Golongan Asnaf,Fakir & Miskin, on 31st March 2017, once again I joined Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat headed by Mohd Aryan Kailash to visit poor families at Kampung Gelam and Kampung Chokra Port Dickson. Also present during the visit was Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat Negeri Sembilan's Ajk Mohd Adam Yee bin Abdulah.

I would like to also take the opportunity to thank Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Sembilan for all their support and contribution given for this program.

Today we visited a total of 5 families. We took the time to sit with them and listen to their problems. I find these visits extremely eye-opening as we learn something new from every visit and this keeps us constantly motivated.

This is our sixth home visit and we will continue to make even more visits in the near future.
