On 26th February 2017, I had the pleasure of attending The Harmony Football Cup 2017 at IPC Raja Melewar, Sikamat together with Mr. Aryan, Chairman of Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat Negeri Sembilan and Mr. Rhavindran, Treasurer of Persatuan Kepimpinan Pendidikan Graduan (PKPG).
This event was jointly organized by 4 NGOs namely IKRAM, Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat NS, Hindu Sangam NS and Chinese Assembly Hall NS Association.
It was aimed to create unity and togetherness among all races where all teams were required to have Malay, Chinese and Indian members in their respective teams. A total of 10 teams consisting of 9 players in each team took part in the event.
The closing ceremony of the event was graced by Tuan Hj Abu Ubaidah Dato' Hj Redza, ADUN Ampangan and Chairman for Jawatankuasa Bertindak Kemudahan Awam dan Alam Sekitar NS.
This event is a brilliant effort to bring all the races together and I applaud the organizers for organizing such a great event. I hope this will be the beginning of many more events with similar concept of unity and I also hope more parties take the initiative of organizing such events in the future.
