31.10.2013 - Putera MIC Negeri Sembilan : Lights of Deepavali 2013

Thursday 31 October 2013

Putera MIC Negeri Sembilan ushered the festival of lights with a twist this year by celebrating Deepavali with 100 single mothers in Negeri Sembilan.

On 31.10.13, the single mothers were invited to a special function where we distributed sarees and food hampers to them. They were also treated to a special dinner thereafter. Our aim simple - to put a smile on their faces and enable them to celebrate Deepavali with joy and happiness. It was such a heartwarming sight to see the smile on their faces and it made our Deepavali celebrations much more meaningful. Few single mothers couldn't make it due to rain but not to worry, cause my PuteraMIC Teluk Kemang boys will deliver the sarees and hampers to their doorsteps.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the following individuals without whom our event would not have been a success :-

Dato' T Rajagopalu, the head of MIC Negeri Sembilan

Mr.Harekrishna Bathumalai, Managing Director of Harekrishna Silk (Brickfields, Banting, Klang) our saree sponsor

Restoran Pedas Indah (Lukut, Rembau), our food sponsor

YB P Kamalanathan, Deputy Education Minister II and Putera MIC coordinator

MIC Negeri Sembilan division and branch chairman and all their members

Putera MIC Negeri Sembilan Division leaders and their members

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all my readers a very Happy Deepavali, I hope this festival of lights brings cheer and joy in all your hearts.

HELPING HANDS

Tuesday 8 October 2013
Dear readers,

Many of us here lead a fairly comfortable life where we have  food, shelter and other necessities. However, there are also many people in our community who are not as fortunate.

Helping the less fortunate is something many of us enjoy doing as it gives us satisfaction. It can be as simple as donating our old but usable clothes, purchasing food and groceries for them or giving money.

I believe many of us here have an intention to help the needy, but do not know how and where to do so.

Through this blog, I will be posting about charities, organizations, individuals and causes that needs donations and/or help from all of you.

Do keep a lookout for our charity related posts and see how you can help.

12.12.2014 - BACK TO SCHOOL

Monday 7 October 2013

Dear readers,

Before the beginning of every school year, Putera MIC Negeri Sembilan organizes a Back to School program in which school bags, uniforms, stationery and other necessities are purchased for students from low income families. For the past few years, we have managed to provide school supplies for poor students in Negeri Sembilan. This year, we plan to reach out to even more students and give them a much needed great start for the coming school year.

This program was conceived when we realized that some school children have to manage by using just a pair of school uniform and school shoes for the entire schooling year, sometimes more than a year. We believe that it is our responsibility to help them and ensure they have sufficient school clothes, shoes and supplies in order for them to study well and score good grades.

Do you want to be part of this beautiful journey of helping those in need and bringing a smile on their face? We would be very grateful if you could consider making a tax-deductible donation for these programs in order to make “Back to School 2014” program a success.

If you would like to contribute for this noble cause, please leave me a message on Facebook with your phone number, and I will ring you soonest possible to furnish you with further details about the program. Alternatively, you can drop me an e-mail at: r_dineshwaran@yahoo.com

Remember, no contribution is considered small. It is the thought and intention that counts.
As Bryan Matteo once said, “Even the smallest act of caring for another person is like a drop of water-it will make ripples throughout the entire pond.”

Let us all join hands to make this Back to School 2014 program successful and leave a smile of these students' face and motivate them even further to excel academically.
The cost for one student uniform with shoes will come up to RM60.

Thanking you in advance for your support on behalf of all the students!

31.08.2013 - "KEMPEN KIBARKAN JALUR GEMILANG 2013"

Sunday 11 August 2013

"Kempen Kibarkan Jalur Gemilang" with Putera MIC Negeri Sembilan was held in conjunction with Malaysia's 56th Independence anniversary.

This campaign was launched by Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan, YAB Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan together with Dato' T. Rajagopalu (MIC Negeri Simbilan Head), YB. Manickam(NS EXCO Member) and Dato VS.Mogan.

Putera MIC Negeri Sembilan was also a part of "Merdeka Walk", which is an initiative by Mr.Ragu and his daughters Nithyarubini and Nithyadarshini, proud Malaysians, who have last year completed a 937km walk from Malacca to Alor Setar, Kedah to celebrate Malaysia's independence.

This year, they were joined by Surya, Mr.Ragu's son who studies in SK Ho Seng Ong Methodist, Ipoh, Perak. According to Ragu, he wanted to mark the country's 56th independence anniversary in a special way with his father and sisters.“This is why I have decided to follow my father and two elder sisters in walking from Johor to Perlis, passing through the states of Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis. We also welcome fellow Malaysians to walk with us, not throughout the journey, but for a short spell to show their love for the nation and to keeps us motivated to do our  best,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ragu said that the walk, which was part of a fun-filled outing for the family, was also for them to show their love for the country and instill patriotism in fellow Malaysians.

Ragu, who is from Bercham, Ipoh, said the walk is expected to end before Merdeka as he and his three children would be covering some 50km a day.“The start of the walk was a bit slow this time around but when we passed Muar in Johor, people came and cheered us on and this gave us the extra boost to do better and complete our mission sooner than expected," he said.

Putera MIC Negeri Sembilan with the support from Dato' T Rajagopalu (MIC Negeri Sembilan chairman) supported Mr.Ragu's initiative by providing lodging and cash aid to help them through the journey.
