28.8.2017 - Program Menyantuni Warga Nelayan Daerah Port Dickson

On 28th August 2017 at about 9.00 am, I had the privilege of joining six fishermen for breakfast and a chit-chat session together with Mohd Aryan Kailash, Chairman of Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat (PPMNS) Negeri Sembilan ; Tuan Hj Amir, Head of Kampung Paya and Mr. Ravindran, Committee Member of PPMNS.

I am thankful to them for their willingness to spend time with me and sharing problems they face in their job as fishermen. I also took this chance to see and learn how they go about their daily job task of catching fishes and gave them groceries together some cash to help ease their burden.

The Ministry of Agriculture & Agro-Based Industry and the Fisheries Department have all done their part well in supporting the fishermen with initiatives such as diesel subsidy and monthly allowances. However, in these challenging times, the amount these fishermen make is still insufficient to enable them to lead a reasonably comfortable life.  

I took serious note of all the issues they face and will work with the relevant government agencies to help these fishermen in solving their issues and also increasing their earning capacity.

I would like to thank Mr.Abu Manan, Mr.Hishamudin, Mr.Zaidle, Mr.Ismail, Mr.Junosa and Mr.Norizan for being so welcoming and allowing me a glimpse into their lives. I would also like to thank the government agencies for generously sponsoring the groceries for the fishermen. 

This program was an amazing experience that gave me a helpful insight and ability to relate more and understand first-hand the challenges the fishermen face. I have always believed that one need to constantly go to the ground and engage with the rakyat to really learn about the problems and challenges they face. This will enable us to relate more to their plight and help find better solutions for their problems.

16.4.2017 - Program Ramah Mesra Bersama Penduduk Kg. Orang Asli Sunggala, Telok Kemang

On 16th April 2017, I joined Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat Negeri Sembilan (PPMNS) together with Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS) Negeri Sembilan and students from Kolej Teknologi Alpha for a program with the residents of Kampung Orang Asli Sunggala at Telok Kemang.

There were a total of around 50 residents who attended this program. During the program, the residents were given  some contributions such as food, clothes and some other basic necessities. The atmosphere was carnival-like as we had fun games and quizzes for both the adults and children. We ended the program with lunch for all who attended. 

We do many other programs all year round to help the needy but i think programs like these really brings us closer to the people and the feeling of bringing a smile on their face is priceless.

24.9.2016 - Program Mendekati Masyarakat

On 24th September 2016, i attended a program organized by Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat Malaysia together with Putera MIC NS, led by me.

During this program, we gave advise to the public on a broad range of issues including employment, social welfare and many others which we believe will benefit them.

23.8.2017 - Merdeka 2017 Program Kibarkan Jalur Gemilang di Port Dickson

The month of August is a special month for all Malaysians, as it is the month of Merdeka. This year marks the 60 years since our beloved country has achieved independence.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, Putera MIC Teluk Kemang together with Putera MIC Bahagian Rasah, MIC Teluk Kemang and Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat NS successfully held the ‘Kibarkan Jalur Gemilang’ program.

In its 6th year now, during this program, Malaysia flags and stickers were distributed to passers-by and motorists to create public awareness and as a symbol of unity, pride and patriotism by Malaysians where everyone was encouraged to display the flags in their home, offices and vehicles.

This program is also aimed to express gratitude to the founders of our nation and those who relentlessly fought for our freedom.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Mr.Sargunan Sg Kalaiarasan, Mr.Ravindran Marappan, Mr.Saimon, En.Mohd Mohd Aryan Kailash who have been instrumental in ensuring the success of this program.

Lets celebrate this whole month of MERDEKA by appreciating all Malaysians as one family through friendship and harmony. United we stand, divided we fall. Happy 60th National Day!!

23.8.2017 - Program Menyantuni Golongan Asnaf Fakir dan Miskin (VIII)

On 23rd August 2017 in conjunction with our Program Menyantuni Golongan Asnaf , Fakir dan Miskin, once again for the 8th time, I joined Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat (PPMNS) Negeri Sembilan headed by Mohd Aryan Kailash to visit poor families at Kampung Paya Port Dickson.

This progam was also made possible by Tuan Hj Amir, Head of Kampung Paya and Mr. Ravindran who is a Committee Member of PPMNS.

This time we made a visit to the homes of 4 families. They were pleasantly surprised but extremely grateful by our visit. 

As mentioned in my earlier postings, this program has been ongoing for some time and will continue as long as necessary to enable us to identify and help to solve problems that are affecting the rakyat. 

Politicians from all sides must be aware that we must continuously engage and meet the rakyat in order to be aware of problems they face. This is not an exercise that is to be done only when the elections are nearing for any ulterior motives. Serving the rakyat is a responsibility that must be undertaken with honesty and integrity without expecting anything in return. This is in line with my motto : together we work for the community,  together we progress.
