27.3.16 - IPTA MY FIRST CHOICE MELAKA

On 27th March 2016, I was invited by Persatuan Graduan Intelektual Melaka in my capacity as advisor of Pergerakan Pendidikan Dan Perkembangan Pelajar India Malaysia. - P1M & Chief of Putera MIC Bahagian Rasah to grace their annual event "IPTA My 1st Choice" together with Honorable Deputy Minister of MOSTI, Datuk Professor Dr @Abu Bakar Md. Diah.
I was also asked to give a speech about the aims, objectives and goals that P1M aims to achieve in the near future.
I also presented netbooks to 6 SPM and STPM top scorers from lower income families in Melaka in memory of my late father, Dato' Rajagopalu Thamothara Pillay, whose birthday was on 25th March. My late father was a firm believer that education is the main tool to eradicate poverty and I hope to carry on his legacy.
My humble thank you to Mr. Sivabalan Krishnan, Chairman of Persatuan Graduan Intelektual Melaka for the invite. I would like to commend him and his team for organizing a program that is very beneficial for the future of our youths. ‪#‎walkdatalk‬ ‪#‎sehatisejiwa‬















5/3/2016 - PRESS CONFERENCE REGARDING SPA JOB & IPTA/IPTS ISSUES

On 5th March 2016, a press conference was held at Pergerakan Pendidikan & Perkembangan Pelajar India Malaysia (P1M) HQ and attended by myself in my capacity as Advisor of Pergerakan Pendidikan dan Perkembangan Pelajar India Malaysia (P1M); Dato' Seri Ramesh Rao Krishnan Naidu , Special Advisor for P1M; Mr. Ranes Subramaniam   , Chairman of P1M  in relation to a few pressing issues concerningw IPTS students in Malaysia.

Following are some important highlights of the press conference by P1M:-

1. All IPTS are requested to be transparent and provide complete and proper information to students on MOA Accreditation and PTPTN loan available for offered courses.
2. Student Affairs Department in all IPTS must provide assistance to students to ensure their PTPTN applications are in order, this is to avoid any delays in the approval process.
3. All IPTS must uphold their ethics and assist students in overcoming their financial difficulties by providing smart choices instead of profit oriented options.
4. Student Affairs Department in all IPTS must look into the financial situation of students and advise them on the maximum loan sum by PTPTN which is RM150K in order to avoid fee payment defaults and drop outs.
5. P1M will provide information and application assistance to students intending to apply for Pharmacy/Dentistry/Medicine courses in foreign universities.
6. P1M strongly advises foreign university placement agents to be more responsible in providing correct information on intake, accommodation, tuition fees, financial assistance, government related approval (NOC) and other relevant details to prospective students.
7. P1M will be compiling detailed complaints from students who were misrepresented by foreign university placement agents and these details will be forwarded to the Goverment Authority for strict action to be taken against the agents.
8. P1M urges students to be more aware when making applications to IPTS in order to avoid any problems in the future.

P1M will also be handing out the SPA job applications of 1st Class Honours Indian students to the relevant authorities and ensured that all students will be given placements as promised. P1M's Special Advisor, Dato' Seri Ramesh Rao also handed a token of RM1K to our national karate backup athlete, Ms. Nastenska to motivate her to excel academically and also achieve her dream to be in the main national karate team. In addition, Dato' Seri Ramesh Rao also handed a sum of RM1K to Ms. Darshini, an IPTS student who is having difficulty to pay her college fees.

As mentioned previously, P1M's aim is to help resolve issues plaguing Indian students and we are focused and determined to achieve that aim in order to benefit all Indian students in Malaysia.
