Sunday 8 October 2017
In continuation of our mission to bring light in the lives of the less fortunate, today, together with Chairman of Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat, Mohd Aryan Kailash and Tuan Hj Osman, Committee Member of Kg Gelam,  we visited six (6) low-income Indian families at Kg Gelam and Kg Air Meleleh in Port Dickson.

We presented the families with some goodies for Deepavali while taking the opportunity to listen to their woes. We took note of the problems they face and will try our level best to find proper solutions for their problems.

While most of us are busy in preparation for the upcoming Deepavali celebrations, those from the low-income families find it hard to even make ends meet on normal days. As such, I urge all Malaysians out there to bring light in the life of at least one family this Deepavali. I can guarantee it will bring satisfaction and happiness that money can't buy.

3.10.2017 : Home Visit to residence of Mr. Shaiful bin Sherdan

Tuesday 3 October 2017

On 3rd October 2017, I made a visit to En. Shaiful bin Sherdan’s home together with Ms. Noor Rislah representing SOCSO and Mohd Aryan Kailash who is the Chairman of Persatuan Pembangunan Masyarakat Negeri Sembilan (PPMNS). We were joined by Head of Women’s Division (UMNO Teluk Kemang), Puan Safiah Binti Sidek and Mr. Ravindran, Committee Member of PPMNS.

During the visit, we updated Mr. Shaiful on his application with SOCSO and also presented him with the goods provided by SOCSO under Pencen Ilat. In addition, Puan Safiah has also pledged to provide assistance to Mr. Shaiful’s family.

Background

During my previous visit to Kampung Paya, Port Dickson for our ‘Program Menyantuni Golongan Asnaf, Fakir dan Miskin’, we visited the home of Mr. Shaiful bin Sherdan. Mr. Shaiful used to be a lorry driver but is now bedridden due to a fall at home and is undergoing treatment. He has 5 school-going children and his wife is a homemaker. The family of 7 now relies on monthly allowance by Jabatan Kebajikan to make ends meet. According to Mr. Shaiful, they have recently applied for help from SOCSO and the application is still under process.

I took note of this and promised them to contact SOCSO for a speedy resolution as it is difficult for the family to survive solely on the allowance given by Jabatan Kebajikan.

I brought this case to the attention of Squad Prihatin SOCSO (KL, HQ) and requested their assistance to expedite the approval taking into consideration the family situation and need of Mr. Shaiful.  This matter was then immediately referred to Squad Prihatin SOCSO Seremban under Ms. Noor Rislah, the Executive officer. Ms. Noor explained that since this accident occurred outside of work, SOCSO will be providing Pencen Ilat. Among the benefits from Pencen Ilat includes recovery equipment, adult diapers, urine bag, mattress, commode chair and hand spint. SOCSO will also provide a sum of RM500 monthly to the wife as allowance for caring for the husband

I sincerely hope the above assistance will be of help Mr. Shaiful and his family and wish for his speedy recovery.
